What causes body jolting?

Myna

Humanoid
I've been asking myself why when I just woke up & I realized part of my body that touched my hubby caused his body that I touched jolted or at least I noticed it when I hugged him and it really happened a lot & obvious ones within few mins. It happened to son once, when I my head touched his head, because of this weird reaction, I stopped touching son whenever we r going to sleep.

However, I didn't notice hubby doing this when he fell asleep on the couch in the living room while I was watching tv on the other sofa, or maybe I didn't observe him long enough (actually I did observed quite some time)

Anyone has this experience or know the possible answer?

I always thought a sharp jerk happens when you are falling asleep, because the "falling" has been interrupted by something that wakes you back up. To me, it always feels like I suddenly hit a wall or something. Maybe it's the wall between "awakeland" and dreamland. It doesn't hurt to hit the wall, but I definitely am strongly jerked back awake.

Have you read of the descriptions of the sound associated with leaving the body in an OBE and the "feeling" of re-entering the body? I found it interesting that I recognized the description of the sound of leaving the body.

Bingo, Ken! We possibly leave the body as we are falling asleep, and anything, like a loud noise or touch, would jerk you back into the body, since you would need to see if it's a "threat" of some type. Humans are very vulnerable when they sleep. The need to jerk awake quickly probably goes back to when humans were eaten by wild animals, as well as threatened by other tribes and such.

@KenJ

I actually suspected this, but i wanted to hear more opinions before i express my idea to find out whether my suspicion is true

The reason i thought it was an unaware OBE of my hubby, because one night when I slightly put my arm on his chest & facing him, I started drifting off, since I'm a conscious sleeper that's why I can see visions while im falling asleep & upon wakeups. And when I fell asleep, i was aware my surround, all of sudden I felt strong energy like wind "WHOOSH" from inside my hubby came out, passed thru my face (we were sleeping face to face) & it gave me sensation of electricity to my whole body as well as short tingling to my brain & it run off towards to the bedroom door & run up to the stairs, i could hear really loud steps. I was shocked of this experience. i think because my brain too aware & too awake atm, so I felt that I was vacuumed back to my body. My guess that i could feel him & heard him (soul), it's because i was about to leave my body for OBE as same time as hubby's.

The thing is, what I wonder, if he really jolted because he had unconscious OBE, but why it happened like so many times within 10 mins?? It should b just once, can it be it's because of me? Since i dont really sleep because of my visions, it might possibly that I was the one in & out my body to register my visions. And could it be me (my soul) passed thru his brain, it caused energy connectivity & caused his brain sent signal to rest body to jolt. Or was his mind was the one in & out??? should there be also combination of physical brain that caused him so as posted by cryscat.

Have u guys noticed body jolted of your family or partner?

I noticed sometimes my body jolted consciously when I fell asleep but since it was conscious, i immediately noticed that I fell back in my body when my mind merged into my body abruptly

Interesting questions, I have no idea. I would like to hear what others think about it.

Many years ago I had a very strange experience. I was sleeping/dreaming and I vaguely remember there was a sound outside (in the real world) and I suddenly fell back into my body. And.....it physically HURT! It hurted so much that I immediatly awoke. I was lying on my belly, and it was the area of my ribs where I felt the pain. And the pain lasted for at least 10 minutes. I always thought that somehow I landed 'wrong' in my body, hence the pain. I only had this experience once. It was not a stomach ache or my heart or anything like that, it was like I was punched badly in my ribs. There was also nothing in the bed that I could have touched in a painful way when moving in my sleep or so. And I certainly didn't punch myself, because my hands were beneath my pillow under my head.

I think your sleeping postion that gave pressure &weighed on your ribs for long time without changing position, caused u the pain, not because your soul fell back to your body.

When the soul in & out body, AND u r consciously experience this, you will have a vacuumed out & pressed into sensation that vibrate strongly on your head aka brain area, then later it sends electrical signal to rest of body that feels sort of combination electrical shortcut feeling, tingling & goosebumps.

That's interesting, Eevee. Maybe you jerked so hard that it affected your spine, and that caused the pain. I jerked hard the other night, but had no lingering pain. I tripped in a dream and tried to keep myself from falling, which resulted in me waking up with quite a strong jerk . . . which kept me from hitting the ground in my dream. :)
