Before cinema, there was painting. A whole story could be told in a single frame. That has been around for at least 30,000 years, at least in the European tradition. Other parts of the world, maybe much longer.

Here's some actual video of my past life and my friend's. The quality is really bad though, sorry :( I actually have tons of old photos from China too, but I don't want to self promote too much. Some are in my thread and some I've collected in other places.

I don't know if any of you have seen this link but you upload photos to the site and it will animate them based on AI. It'd be cool to try out on your old photos.

I did the video below from the photo in my icon. The results are really cool, I think it helps you to see and visualize someone in 3D
That is really impressive (and slightly disturbing!).

I tried it out for myself with some old photos - not of my family or past life, but just some Victorian-era photos. The free account allows only a very few goes, it's easy to use them up as the results are so fascinating.

Oldest known photograph of a tornado in 1884.

Scenes from "Gold Diggers of Broadway" (1929) Lost color musical!

This 1929 musical, shot in an early Technicolor process, is a mostly lost film. Only incomplete copies of the final two reels, plus the complete Vitaphone soundtrack, still exist.

Excellent! Definitely one of the greatest musicals of all time!
