Apop - sorry for highjacking your thread for a moment for a reply, which is in no way directed at you
Hi Ivy,
You pose an important question and I agree with you completely! I find it annoying that there is such a focus on 'famous past lives'. In my book, there is no such thing - some past lives are just easier to research than other :cool. A while ago a member posted here about his son's memories that he thought fitted eerily with the life of a 'well-known British musician' from the 1950's or 60's, but he never said
who it was. It was irrelevant to his question - and quite basically, it was irrelevant to other members. I agree that 'fame' is not a life lesson and 'fame' is so abstract: People can be famous in one region and completely unknown in another.
But I will be the Devil's advocate for a moment here, because reincarnation is a controversial subject, even to some believers, and credibility is essential when it comes to past life memories. On this messageboard we often see people claiming famous past life and yes, they often have to stand more scrutiny than others, because there are so many other aspects to claiming a past life than just to be interested in reincarnation and because it's very easy to be influenced by movies, books, paintings, lectures, etc. on that particular person and their time. If you search the net you will many, many people, who claim to be Anne Boleyn, Marilyn Monroe or Shakespeare - obviously they can't all be right and it would hurt the credibility of this forum if we just accepted any claim that was made.
Again, this is not to say that we don't believe in Apop's specific claim. Certainly, 'famous' people have reincarnates too, but there is a certain wariness about such claims
in general, because focus very quickly is on validating whether it really
was this famous person or not, and not on the actual point of remembering that past particular past life.
I hope this answered your question
