How do we "see" spirit?

I think they define ghosts as people not knowing there


dead. and spirts are people from your life.


who know there dead , but come back


say message to you or just like being


near you. Like my dogs that have passed away.


They show up every so often mostly on


holidays. I noted I have seen ghosts


But shadow people are scary.


Most people who see a ghost, because it wants to be seen.


We have what you call orbs, in our house.
 
I have seen full body ghosts, faces, orbs and images out of the corner of my eye. Adults, children, animals. People and animals I know and those I do not.

Briar Rose, you used a term in one of your eariler posts in this thread mentioning a lady sat in a chair as being a bleed-through of a past time.


For a long time I had been trying to figure out the right word for expressing my image of the 'memories/visions' I get. In the end I started calling them echoes. But bleed-through describes it so much more perfectly. As though the threads of time from the past come too close to the time thread of the present, so they near enough superimpose, allowing us to experience them!
 
Some day, science will understand how time functions, Lynette. In the mean-time, we will all struggle to express the "in-expressible". I don't think using the term "bleed-through" was original to me, but I have been using it for so long that I don't remember which author to credit. I think over time, all of us who "see visions and dream dreams", have to make peace with it. I have heard psychic ability referred to as a curse instead of a gift, and that can be true. There may be a DNA marker for the "gift", and that will be understood some day.

That your mom is psychic too, is a bit of circumstantial evidence for my genetic theory, shadow. Either not everyone can see spirits, or not everyone admits to it!
 
How do we see spirit:


I don't consider myself particularly psychic however have had a few specific experiences I'll share:


As a young teen, after my grandpa had died, I heard him speak my name about two inches above and to the left of my left ear. I have read that this is a very common experience for ppl. When , years later, I told my mom (it was her dad) she told me that when I was born and brought home from the hospital, Gramps had said, "I feel like I have known her forever." That was a very precious thing to me to hear from my mom! Especially b/c I was very hesitant to tell her I had heard the voice of her father! I didn't know what to expect when I told her and having that as her response felt so deeply amazing...


Once when meditating (when I first began, actually) I saw a brilliant white flash of light so bright it startled me out of sitting. Never has happened again tho I see the faces and pulsating violet light....


Once when reaching towards a student's feet to give a yoga pull of the legs in a yoga class I felt a magnetic physical pulse ...pushing me away....


And recently, just the other day actually, while working with someone with a sore shoulder, I felt someone come up very close to me and tap me physically on the top of the shoulder. It was so firm I turned to look to see who was there. No one appeared to be there. "They" tapped again. I turned again. Nobody appeared to be there. I am a science person by nature and training but I do believe that to be scientific one has to take all evidence and consider it as objectively as possible. Well, I think we have loads of evidence that there is more to this reality than our senses regularly perceive! Or that the accepted society agrees to perceive!!!

Welcome. I responded to your other thread, but will repeat here. You DO seem to have psychic or intuitive ability. Many people in this forum do also. It seems to go hand-in-hand with remembering past lives. Do you know who Dr. Rubert Sheldrake is? He is a "heretic" British scientist who believes the "paranormal" is really "normal". Here is an interesting experiment they did with dogs.


And here is another forum you may find interesting. Many people there also have past life memories.
 
I think that there is really nothing "paranormal", just things science doesn't understand yet. I found the "push" you felt from the yoga student to be very interesting. Do you think that he didn't want to be touched, and subconsciously used energy to "push" you away? Has anyone else experienced this?
 
Whenever I've linked with and seen spirit so far, it's always been a mind's eye image.


Having said that, I was at a development workshop on Saturday where we did a meditation for going into / near trance (depending on what we were ready for) and although my eyes were closed and there was no light in the room, spirit came in a lot closer than usual and I got a bright light right in front of my face on a few occasions. I can only compare it to when you're sunbathing laying on your back with your eyes closed and the brightness of the sun shows through your eyelids.
 
I have seen Pappy as an image projected on a door, leaning up against a building and within my mind's eye.


I have seen others as if I am watching a movie inside the back of my eyes.


Sorry if that doesn't make sense.
 
This has all been really interesting and I agree with Argonne that people on this site must be more open and more accepting of psychic experience.


My first view of spirit was in my thirties after my Grandfather died, my first close relative. His face was the same but with a glow around it. Mostly now I either see spirit in dream or in my minds eye. The occasional time I have seen I've been confused at first thinking it a real person but not sure. A sepia picture is probably the best description.


Smell & sense of being watched have been mentioned & I would say is my strongest feeling.

I recently watched it. It's very interesting. Some of the skeptical British scientists seem to be more open minded than their American peers. At least they didn't dismiss it outright as being impossible. I also liked Rupert Sheldrake's experiment with dog telepathy. Sheldrake is a heretic. Heretics are always proven to be right.

I tend to disagree with you .


The people I see day to day can't see the forest for trees


Very few people have ability to see a sprit or ghost.


Children, now there is different story most are opened


minded some are not.


Once and and awhile I see a young child at a store


or any public. They stare at me for while looking around


me . I see there eyes moving like there other people.


beside me.


I like believe to everybody has ability to have a open mind.


We use to many, many years ago.

Are you aware of souls who accompany you as you go about your daily life, shadows? I was wondering if they are the spirits of relatives, or souls that you "draw-in" from being what you are?
 
I don't see spirits very often while i'm awake but when I do, it's in the mind's eye - not with the naked eye. More like an inner knowing and the feeling of their presence.


What's more common with me are dream and night visitations. One of the more interesting dreams i've had was a visitation with a few of the children from Newtown. One child in particular came through the strongest and was a vibrant one, very happy in life and is just as happy and at peace in the after. It was such a horrible tragedy, I won't go into details of the dream or who the children were was out of respect for their families.


Usually around fall when the veil gets thinner, I tend to get woken up in the middle of the night and sometimes will see someone standing by the bed or passing through.
 
I saw one on sunday in my room.

It was a women dressed 1800's clothing


a dark dress, she had dark long hair. kinda freaked


me out.

Several people in another paranormal online group that I belong to have said some of the Newton children came to them with messages for their parents. But then an angel came and had them line up and marched them off to wherever they needed to go.
 
Really? That's interesting, several from your group had the same dream?


I didn't see any angels in the dream or anyone being lined up, but I did feel the angels were around. I do remember seeing a wall and an arched gate/entryway where most were on the other side. There were really only 3-4 children that came through clearly and those were the ones in front of the wall closest to me. The strongest one was running all around me and was very smiley and vibrant.


Wherever they are now, I am glad to know that angels pulled them into a safer place where they can be at peace and prepare for their next journey.
 
I don't think you can really see a soul's essence. Perhaps you can see some projected intended form of it but really, the heart and true intentions, the pasts and truths and fears and loves of it? That is making quite a grand assumption, as many folks these days can't even do half as much an evaluation for their kindred humans.


If you see such a form, do you really think your sight of its perceived intention is true?

Can you be so sure that what you thought you were seeing was not just what they wanted you to see?
 
Yes, I have, with both the living and the dead. I definitely see things with living people that they don't want me to, usually within 10 minutes of meeting them. I have been wrong about many things in this life, but not that. I don't think the dead are any better at shielding their intention. If anything, they have to use more energy just to manifest. An ugly and twisted spirit is hard to hide, just as a beautiful one shines out where it is easily seen. How does it work? I have no clue. It's a gift or a curse given to some people and not others. It doesn't work for people I meet on-line, though. I am often surprised by what sex a person turns out to be - not that it matters.That may indicate that a soul really has no gender. Some souls do give out predominately male or female vibes, but sometimes not from bodies that match the "vibe".

If spirits were the constant presence for me that they are for you, shadows, I would probably feel the same way. Have you tried asking "Guidance" to hide them from your sight? Would you want to be free of the "gift" if it was possible?

Thankfully I don't, some people do.
 
As I posted in an earlier post, I can only catch "movements" in the corner of my vision now (as an Adult), whereas, as a child, I could "see" head-on.


These "movements", I surmise, are "spirit forms", but they could be anything, actually.


However I know, once passing through the "Veil" that my vision will be made crystal clear, once again!!! :)
 
Generally this is not something that I will admit, but I can sometimes see spirit. I don't see them head-on or upfront. I see them in my "mind's eye" like an intrusive thought. This doesn't occur on a daily basis, but when it does it's always surprising. Instead of seeing them, I feel them.
