Where do you stand on my homemade chart?

TheCuriousOne

Always Searching...
NOTE: This is a "for fun" chart, which is why I put this in the Tea and C0ffee Palace.

Looking through the various members on this forum, I have discovered there are various levels of "awareness". Below is a chart listing the different levels:

1. The Super-Aware. These people are always having paranormal experiences (like seeing orbs or spirits, astral projecting, etc) , most often originating in childhood. They can remember every detail of their past lives, down to the most minute detail such as what kind of earrings they wore or what color their cat's fur was. These people can also see others' past lives.

2. The Aware. These are the people who say "I was (insert name or occupation here) in a prior life". They have dreams about said life and may even know their PL name. However, unlike the Super-Aware, their experiences are limited to only PL memories.

3. The Semi-Aware. These are the people who say "I feel I was (name or occupation) in a past life". They have scant dreams and can only rely on feelings, rather than concrete memories.

4. The neutral. These people have no past life memories, but they are not skeptics either.

5. The Semi-Skeptic. A skeptic who acknowledges the potential truth in past life stories.

6. The Full Skeptic. This person will never believe no matter how much you try to convince them.

I believe I am somewhere between 3 and 4 on this chart.

I am between 1 & 2. I am not super aware because I cannot see my past lives, or those of others, at will, but I do get a sense of what people were in their past lives. I am not just limited to PL memories, I have had a number of my questions answered by my guide(s) after I have asked, and I am constantly being shown my future in visions.

Strangely, I feel its the Neutrals who are the most interesting. The ones who do not receive visions, PL memories, etc., but posses a built in sense that it is still the truth. I feel these are the older souls.

TheCuriousOne,

Before I got to the end I had positioned myself above a 3 but my experiences have not included much from past lives other than one scene and a knowledge not learned in this lifetime. So, I am about where you position yourself. If I had a pl that I could recall I think I'd be a solid 3.

Between 4 and 5, I guess. I have no memories of my own but, rarely, I will have a 'vision' of what seems to be someone else's past life. It's like a holographic overlay superimposed over their face. I'm not looking for it.

I stay close to the skeptical side because a lot of accounts of past lives sound like the teller has read too many historical romance novels (or has unresolved martyrdom issues).

I'm still looking for accounts of past lives that would be in line with the types of lives my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents would have had. They were ordinary people, who spent their lives working hard, and there were millions of people like them. When I hear of just one, I think I will become a true believer.

At the same time I'm not completely skeptical because some accounts and related incidents certainly seem credible.

It's strange but I am rather like a gas entity and vary between 1, 2 & 3. As a child I knew exactly who I was but that knowledge has faded over time. I am careful not to define myself as someone definite of their past life at this time, because the nature of it is rather awkward. I believe my cold logic makes it more difficult than it needs to be and I sometimes struggle to accept or believe that such things are possible. I do have dreams, visions and memories of memories, and it keeps getting stronger and stronger, I cry about its intensity and truth almost everyday, signs follow me everywhere but I dare not conclude anything. I don't know what I'm waiting for but I need more time. I am utterly accepting and neutral of the facts, whatever they may be.

I'd be #1-2 for the extreme detail in my memories. Though I wouldn't say I remember "everything". I just experience a wide spectrum of elements when I do have a memory, based on whatever I thought was important or focused on in that life.

But I haven't had that many other paranormal type experiences beyond the very common intuition element. I definitely didn't have much going on during childhood.

Interesting, Sister Grey. I wouldn't say my memories were "abnormal" for the times. The memories I had last night of "Jack" circled around the chores and moments of relaxation in a house on the prairie, in the middle of nowhere.

It's mostly interesting for how generic it was. Nothing exceptional beyond the relationships, because we always feel them to be most intensely unusual, even when they are about what anyone would expect.

I find that the most vibrant characteristics of my memories are always the relationships and my reactions to social pressures. These interactions can often sound quite unique to a modern mindset, but when I research it turns out that my experiences are rather common and to be expected in that culture and era. Nothing unusual.

Guess like some others here am between #1, #2, and #3 depending on what is going on in life. As for myself, how often can I pick up other peoples past lives it seems. And as for myself, I don't necessary have that many past life dreams but I do how often have some 'Deja Vu' or some flashback it seems. Wishing Everyone the Best!

Mostly 2

I imagine I run between Number 1 and Number 3, mostly Number 2, dreams and PL recall is spotty now, but when I was a child, it was on like "Gangbusters" every night, but it was always PL (RAF) or PL (Shepard Boy), but every now and then, I would have dreams about places I had never been at.

However now, it's hard to figure out, is it a "Junk" dream or a different PL dream, but I kinda would like to stick to just the usual 2 PL's from my childhood, anymore makes the dreamtime too hectic.

As for other Psychic Phenomena, it happens here or there at odd times, I just recognize when it happens and work with it, most of the time, it is a "Gift" but sometimes it can be a burden in itself.

BTW, good poll, well thought out and executed.

Anywhere between 1 and 3 to be honest. I'm not always super aware and most of my past lives are spotty (and for all I know- my original writing is some form of recall to some extent)

I always wonder with the people I'm most connected to in this life if we had had past lives together.

I suppose I'm somewhere between 1 and 2. I like to think I'm pretty good at spotting "who was who" in a past life, but I'm sure I've made plenty of mistakes as well.

I think I'm a number 2 on this chart. I have vague memories of a few past lives.

One as a Shamanic type of healer/medicine man, which I can identify as around the Neolithic period. My strongest memories of that time was it was very very cold, and I was very hungry all the time.

Another life I can remember was of helping to build something like Stonehenge. In that life, I was a Shaman (again?), and I was crippled. Usually, at that time, deformed babies were killed at birth, but I was saved by the prophetic dreams of the current Shaman and became his apprentice, then went on to take his position when he died. I was in love with our tribal chief's daughter, and rose to a position of power before I was killed by the female Shaman from a neighboring tribe.

Another life I can remember was living as a Christian Monk in the Middle Ages. I believe I was instrumental in uniting various faith groups (Pagan/Christian/Druid), showing them how all their differing paths lead to the One spiritual source.

I don't know if this is the right thread to post this, but I will anyway. My apologies if it's in the wrong place...

From what I've learnt and discovered from researching many spiritual/religious paths/beliefs (and my own personal experiences), and putting it all together into a coherent 'whole' (like a grand theory of everything), it seems that all individuals are simply individualised manifestations of ONE universal life/spirit/consciousness/energy (or whatever you want to call it).

Therefore, to my mind, we have ALL had MANY (potentially millions or billions) of incarnations on this and other planets, in other worlds, dimensions, and planes of existence. To me, the question of "How Many" incarnations we have had, should actually be restated as: "How many incarnations can we actually remember!"

Personally, I have vague memories of about three or so past lives, ranging from being a neolithic shaman type of person, through to being a Christian monk in the middle-ages, then to a life as a negro voodoo woman in New Orleans in the late 1800's.

Admittedly, these past-life 'memories' could just be products of my imagination (I'm a real doubter, sometimes), and my theory (above) is just my own personal beliefs, but getting to this stage of my life, and chatting to one amazing (and unexpected) person, has made me develop a special interest in reincarnation.

I am just semi-aware, thanks! It would freak me out if I were seeing stuff, as I am not that well balanced. :) In fact part of me always wanted that but now I know, that I do not! I rather accept my own limitations. Let me just say this;

The AOSpare my most recent incarnation was a gift! I've stumbled upon it and went with it in a way that is hard to describe....obsession and elation...I'd guess. Then my current life, childhood started to make sense as I have looked back, all the idiosyncrasies all the habits, quirks now made sense. But then again this could have been just a coincidence...except I do not believe in accidents nor coincidences... I only believe in synchronicity!

This is a very interesting scale, and seems to fit well with my experience and what other people on the board report as well. I think it deserves more of an open and prominent place. I.e., I wouldn't mind asking newcomers where they think they fit (answering would be optional, but it would be interesting). Plus, I think most would be interested in knowing whether they were talking to someone who considers themselves a "1" or a "4", etc. I consider myself to be a solid 3 at the moment, but I've been making some headway recently that may move me closer to 2. Anyhow, I'd definitely like to see a poll.

S&S

I put myself as a 3. I have a few feelings of where i've been in some past lives but not 100% certain. Sometimes images come to me when i'm going to sleep which some of them i suspect are past lives. They're the best i've got to go on.

Hi John,

You're right, but if I had to classify, I would say that you had: (1) A single very clear memory (probably on a "2" level) of your PL death in WWII, and a few ancillary memories of various qualities from that period; and (2) a single level "3" memory of being an ancient Egyptian priest. (I don't know whether you have recovered anything further from that PL).

Of course, there may be more, but those are the ones that I seem to remember. However, this classification scheme is very general--I'm sure there are others who don't fit it very well. For example, Ken is also a bit of an anomaly. He has a single very clear memory of a sky with two suns--which means that any PL he had there obviously wasn't a PL on this planet.

Sometimes I think a single or small number of clear memories like you and Ken have are meant to keep the person involved from accepting the current materialistic paradigms for existence. It forces the one remembering to think "outside the box" where they have to look for answers outside the usual ones accepted by the current mindset.

I understand what you are saying and what this chart is all about. The chart was intended as a light assessment of different stages of spiritual development, but it also had serious implications of what we are all about.. This is how most see themselves. In my opinion its very difficult if not impossible to access your own spiritual abilities. I will give some examples

To say that people who believe they have travelled to the Astral fit into some sort of pigeon hole is wrong, for many reasons. I have travelled but not as much as I would have liked in recent times. For some reasons my abilities in this area have shrunk significantly, but from doing it I have some understandings. I assumed it was the Astral and reported such on this forum, but then changed it to I was travelling to another dimension, when in fact I had no idea where I went. I only knew it was the same place each time. Those who know they have travelled to the Astral are much better at this than I am.. I'm not making these assessments to say what I can do and what I cannot do, but trying to point out things are not black and white with spiritual abilities

I practise on a regular basis leaving the physical body. Its always at night in bed after I have finished meditating .I concentrate on the pure spiritual me look at the window in front of the bed and leave my body and walk to the window. Sometimes it works mostly it doesn't, but I'm getting better with practise I have had varying results. The best was around six months ago, to walk to the window then look around and see the physical in bed is really something. Its very weird because the physical brain is still working so I'm in two places at once. I walked around the house as I always do but never went outside because that was to much for me to do, but this time it was going so well I though I would try.. my concentration level went through the roof as I went outside I walked to a shed next to the house where I kennel my dog in an enclosure at night. I looked at the dog and noticed he had knocked over his water container He had also ripped one of his blankets which is a rare thing for him to do . I could concentrate no longer and went straight back to the physical. The next morning I went straight out to the shed and there was the knocked over water container in the exact same position I had seen it the night before and his blanked was ripped exactly as I had seen it.. Again I'm not good at this many have far better OBE's.. But I make it happen that could be the difference

I occasionally have vivid dreams. I'm sure others have far more than me.

When I contact my pure spiritual self and source that is on completely different level to all of this

I practise leaving the physical because my source told me I must develop this ability.. You must leave when you are ready BB he tells me. You must leave while the physical is still alive for some time, which appears to be the opposite of how it should be.. I know I will leave when the physical is at a low ebb because of illness or accident and will go to the process's fully aware of what is going on, that is the way my source wants it to happen . It's my belief that the concentration required to leave permanently will be far less with a weakened physical. It always feels like the physical is pulling me back that is why I have to concentrate so hard

Its interesting that OBE's are so different to travel

I have talked about these things to try and point out things are not black and white about spiritual abilities and why I'm none of the above either individually or as a combination.. I just me, the pure spiritual me

Regards

John, from my own experience doing astral travel (which apparently is far worse than yours), I don't see why you make a difference between "the astral", "another dimension", OBE's and "travel". My advice is: don't get lost in words. People just use whatever words thay have available to describe a reality that is just ineffable for us human beings, and as you know, words limit us.

As far as I've seen the only difference between your OBE to your garden and "astral travel" is that in this latter you have access to "dimensions" that are at a higher frequency of vibration than our physical world, and somehow you just "lose contact" with the physical plane, everything turns very different. But the concept is just the same, and once you learn how to concentrate and have control, you can go wherever you want.

Apart from that, I agree with you that our "spiritual development" can't be classified, among other reasons because I think our spiritual development has nothing to do with our "spiritual abilities" or how clear we remember our past lives. I understand that wasn't the intention of the initial post though, which was meant just for fun. I guess the problem stems from the lack of general agreement and proper definition of "paranormal experiences", as we see here:

I doubt there are many "super-aware" people who have all these experiences at the same time, or people who remember their past lives "down to the most minute detail". I know quite a few "sensitive" people who can see spirits but they are not aware at all of their past lives or others' past lives (I'd better keep my opinion on most psychics). I also know many astral travellers who don't have any knowledge or even belief in past lives. Also, as you say, people who try to astral project consciously know very well that this is a very hard ability that needs very hard training to maintain and develop. And your "awareness" and ability to do it fluctuates through the years. Though many people seem to have a natural ability, it always depends on life's circumstances and many other factors we just can't control. That's something most people fail to understand, and that's why this classification, imho, is quite inaccurate.

Btw, practicing conscious OBE's would be beneficial for everyone, they would lose the fear of death at the very least. And yes, everyone can learn how to do it.

John/Eowyn,

I think you are both a bit hard on the "chart"--which probably should be considered a beginning and not a finished product. I also have some changes I would like to see, but I think it is a very good start.

First, in terms of "spirituality"--I don't think the chart intends to measure "spirituality"--though the author does include some psychic phenomena under the "super aware" category (1). I think the point has been well made that spirituality and psychic phenomena are two different things and don't always (or even usually) go together. Likewise, as pointed out, PL recall and other forms of "psychic" phenomena (if PL memory can even be considered to be a species of psychic phenomena) don't always go together. So, I think we're all in agreement on those two. Actually, most of the objections here seem to flow from the author's inclusion of some varieties of psychic phenomena as (apparently) invariable co-phenomena along with "super aware" PL memories (1). This could be easily corrected by simply editing these out of "1" or possibly noting them as "often but not always" being found in conjunction with this level of PL memory.

Second, in terms of "spirituality"--I don't think that you will find more than a broad consensus on a board of this type as to certain of its features. I doubt that there would be a single comprehensive definition that would please everyone, and I'm pretty sure that even the three of us could not come up with something that we all found acceptable. So, I'm definitely in favor of leaving it out of the chart altogether.

Third, in terms of changes--aside from those noted above, I'd like to see more gradations. For example, I definitely think that another grade is necessary between 3 and 4 for those who believe in PL memories without having personally experienced them. This would include those who have friends, children, or relatives who have such memories as well as those who have a religious belief in such things.

I know this, like I said in my post, and believe me, I wasn't being too hard on a chart that is made for entertaining purposes. Anyway, TheCuriousOne used the word "awareness", another one about which we could also debate for eternity (and no, I'm not up to). I think this word implies people who remember past lives or have some kind of psychic ability are "aware" of a reality that other people can't see. I agree to some extent, but I don't think remembering past lives or having OBE's makes you necessarily "aware" of anything, especially when no human being has yet discovered and defined exactly the nature of that reality.

I guess this is more a philosophical matter than anything else, I just wanted to say that I see no point in this kind of charts. You say it's a start, and I wonder, a start for what? Why do we always have the need to classify people? We're all in our own journeys, and probably we're going to pass through all those grades, in this life and possibly in future lives too, so I'd just say: "Please leave me out of any chart altogether".

Hi Eowyn,

I suppose that people just respond differently to things. For example, I found the chart very reassuring, it gave me a place and way to see how my experiences "fit" into a continuum. I don't take anything on this board to be reflective of life in a broader sense. I.e., I do not see people on this board as necessarily being more "evolved" or "spiritual" or anything of the sort, whether they have more/less PL memories or psychic phenomena going on in their lives. They just share a common interest and in many case, a common problem: anomalous "memories" that don't fit into the current (largely) Western view of things.

Being on this board makes me feel less alone. However, I had trouble, as I first began looking at the folks reporting, seeing how I fit in. After all, it seemed like most of the people I was reading--Tanguerra, Past Pilot, etc.--had very well defined who, what, when, where memories. All I had were nagging feelings that have dogged me for much of my life, and finally led me to do a couple of Youtube regressions with fairly ambiguous results. I actually liked being able to fit myself into a definite category (for the present). It neither inflates or deflates my sense of myself--it is not a "grade". Who would be doing the grading? It just reassures me that my experiences are shared by others, and I am somehow part of a larger phenomenon and continuum. I don't fully understand what is going on, but there is something comforting to me about that fact. I am not alone with this anymore.

In another sense, I am also happy to see the chart as a symbol of the fact that we are actually beginning to recognize patterns in terms of the degree/nature of individual PL memory. I'm not sure why, but this also reassures me. Like you I have a scientific background, though I moved from an undergraduate degree in science into law and focus on patents. To me this type of thing (finding a way to categorize the data) seems like the normal way in which knowledge (and science) progresses. It may not have the rigor of Ian Stevenson, but it is a start. And, whatever this initial try lacks may be made up for in the next or following iterations.

Where do you stand on my homemade chart?

I would say I'm a 2 plus some of #1. I have distinct memories of past lives, some of which I feel have been corroborated, but I don't recall extensive details of them. I've also had many different kinds of paranormal (or "not normal") experiences throughout my life, from the sublime to the useless, bewildering to downright disturbing.

Each of us is individual, and that really means a lot. Though we may share the same sorts of experiences I think it's always going to be in unique degrees and configurations. In my case, the paranormal experiences have been so varied that I can't form any kind of cohesive understanding from them -- except to recognize that life has multiple dimensions beyond this material plane. Perhaps that's the only conclusion about them that I, personally, need to draw at this time. As I reflect on past life memories, on the other hand, I see that they're instructive, reminding me of attitudes overcome and showing me things I need to improve now.
