BTW. I was going to add, the reason I thought about this was possibly a bit interesting. There's a bit going on in my life at the moment - various friends are ill, NB's father died... When I feel a bit anxious I sort of go into a 'mode' where I feel I have to get all 'organised' and straighten things out. It makes me feel better.
The other evening I was tidying up and putting things away. I was hanging up some clothes, and I had a little flashback of the military way of making sure everything was tidy and neat. A cavalry officer would not dream of throwing his clothes/uniform on the floor any old how, even though an aristocrat might do that, expecting that servants would pick up after him.
Sometimes in moments of mindless abstraction our minds go to what feels safe and secure I suppose.
