Post #12 dealt with the Bottomless Pit in Revelation. I also see this as the Underworld and Abyss. As to post 12 - Interesting. I'm not sure I buy this, but it has some possibilities I would like to explore..
Here is another verse linking the Pit to a Woman...
Proverbs 23:27 (Young's Literal Translation)
"For a harlot is a deep ditch, And a strange woman is a strait pit"
I've spent a lot of time looking into the physics of the Bottomless Pit... specifically what life is like before conception, before we enter the womb.
From what I see being described in the Bible, the Bottomless Pit is another way of saying 2D or Two Dimensions. It neither has a top, nor does it have a bottom. Top and Bottom are 3D or Three Dimensional constructs.
We exist in 3D (or 4D if we add time). Thus, a world of 2D would be 'beneath' us, hence the 'Underworld'. It is the world of the Flatlanders...
Conversely, New Jerusalem is built 'Foursquare', which is a picture of a Tesseract. In other words, New Jerusalem is the Spiritual Womb leading to Higher Dimensions for those looking for a more 'advanced' future incarnation...
We are but a 2D 'Shadow' of higher dimensions...
Hebrews 8:5
"Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount"
Remember that the Bible teaches that our bodies are the Tabernacle. We started life as a single cell at the moment of conception...
Again, we are but a 2D 'shadow' of the higher dimensional Heavenly Body called New Jerusalem.
BTW... just like Earthly Women have a 'monthly cycle', She, New Jerusalem, has a monthly cycle as well...
Revelation 22:2
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations"
Those 'fruit' are the Spiritual Ovums in which the saved partake to become Born Again. The Tree of Life is Sarah who is the opposite of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil... aka... Hagar the Egyptian Woman (Hathor).
The Two Trees in the Garden of Eden are Two Woman in which we choose to be birthed from. We chose Hagar to be born here. Born of the Law. Born under bondage.
When we chose to be born of the Earthly Mother, we all partook of the Forbidden Fruit which was the ovum of our Mothers.
Yes... The Bible has a way of telling stories that we Adults must learn to comprehend.
Another reference to a world of 2D is this verse...
Genesis 1:2
"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters"
'Without form and void' is another way of saying 2D or perhaps even 1D or 0D for that matter.
The 'Waters' that God moved upon was the original 'Plane of Existence' before 3D came into being, not the physical waters or oceans on Earth as we know. 3D was created much later in the Genesis account.
Here is another reference to this 2D plane of existence...
Revelation 6:14
"And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places"
When a Scroll is laid flat, it represents a 2D concept. It is information (words) on a surface or Plane.
Those that understand M-Theory can relate to this illustration...
The above is an illustration of the Abyss, The Deep, Chaos and the world of 2D in which we all existed before birth.
The Bible describes this existence as sleep...
Psalms 13:3
"Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death"
In other words, Sleep = Dreaming.
The 2D Underworld is where dreams happen.
Thus, in the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus, we see two types of 'Sleep' or 'Dream States' each person was having...
Abraham's Bosom = Peaceful Dream
Torments = Nightmare
Just a reminder of what I said earlier in this thread, I believe that Lazarus and the Rich Man is a picture of a Beggar who saw his past life as the Rich Man and paid his Karmic Debt.
Likewise, Sarah is looking at her past life as Hagar. They are the two trees in Eden.
Yes, Jerusalem aka... Mystery Babylon... is resurrected and saved to become New Jerusalem!
We can't have a New Jerusalem without and Old Jerusalem now can we?
